Well, hello there.
This is Mocking.
How are you today?
That's good, I guess. It depends on what you said...
I suppose you clicked on my name for one of two reasons;

1. Your cursor accidentally hit it when you were going for something else.
2. You actually want to learn something about Mocking.

There are some basic things you might want to know about me, then.

- I love writing, roleplaying, reading (books and watching anime), and photography.
- Somewhat related to that, coming up with quotes is fun. Always expect the very worst of the human race so you can never be disappointed. We all breathe the same air and bleed the same colour, so why can't we look deeper than skin?
You should try coming up with quotes, too :3
- I LUFF animals and nature. Dinosaurs (my fursona's a Velociraptor) and mythical creatures included. On that note, I'm baffled by how little we know about fireflies.
- I'm obsessed with zombies and the apocalypse.
- 30 Seconds to Mars is my musical life. Mostly. I mean, I'll listen to anything but rap and country. By the way, for a change of pace, look up Two Steps From Hell or nature sounds (the real, original music of the world).
- I acknowledge the fact that I don't have much self-esteem or confidence, as you'll probably be able to tell if you talk to me. Mocking is not a pretty person. And she doesn't say that for attention, because attention is stupid.
- I am a Canadian ((Pokemon Trainer, Ravenclaw, Soul-Reaping, Scythe-Meister, Meme-lover, etc etc)) Pegasister employed to the Ministry of Silly Walks :3
- I'm fluent in Pig Latin. Which, unfortunately, does not make up for crappy French grades in school. That being said, I suck hardcore at math.
- Haters make me cry.
- I prefer to be called Mocking. Not Mockingstar.
- Half of my family is French/Italian, and the other half is German/Estonian. All that European blood has given me the natural tenancies to organize and list things. You've been warned of possible OCD moments to come.

Humans, animals, dragons, anime, powers, apocalypse, Warriors; whatever you can think of, chances are I'll roleplay it. I like to formulate plots and ideas with people via PM, and also like to join unique, mostly literate roleplays. I'm a grammar freak who possibly has OCD...which might be why Mocking is a grammar freak...Not a nazi, just a freak. I've roleplayed with tons of amazing people, and it would be so much better if everybody just followed some basic rules.

Note: The greatest website ever called TheOatmeal really helps with this stuff. It explains grammar through the use of colourful and witty comic strips.


How to Use Grammar

Please, please, PLEASE remember these lessons and apply them to real life. It makes everything better. Even if you have no idea what you're talking about, grammar makes it sound like you do.

There-- The giant man-eating dinosaur is over there, officer. ((Indicates a place))
Their-- I do believe it's their man-eating dinosaur, but I could be wrong. ((Indicates possession))
They're-- If they're not going to keep their man-eating dinosaur on a leash, then they don't deserve to keep him at all. ((Contraction. They+are))

Too-- There's too ​many damn zombies in this stupid apocalyptic world.
To-- Let's go to the abandoned store to rob it of bullets so we can shoot up some undead fiends.
Two-- I kill two zombies a minute, on average.

Its-- Its head looks like a potato.
It's-- That's because it's a Potato Head toy, stupid. ((Contraction. It+is))

Your-- Your turn to jump off the cliff and attempt to fly.
You're-- You're probably going to die, aren't you? ((Contraction. You+are))

Then-- Used for sentences involving time. "Then I threw burning toast at his face."
Than-- Used for sentences comparing things. "He was lucky. It was better than the rabid armadillo from last time."

Ho-- Derived from the word wHOre. Used to insult somebody. Usually spelled like; 'Ho.
Hoe-- A garden tool. It's in the Oxford Dictionary, for crying out loud. If you call somebody a hoe, you're calling them a gardening tool used to pull ground over seeds.


Misspelled Words Spelled Correctly; Grammar Mysteries Debunked

Misspell= To spell something incorrectly.
Mispell= Not a word.
Lose= To lose a race.
Loose= A loose screw.
Weird= Odd or abnormal.
Wierd= ...What the hell does that even mean?
Definitely= For sure, positive.
Definitaly= ...Not a word, people.
Effect= Noun.
Affect= Verb.
Weather= Precipitation, such as rain or snow.
Whether= It doesn't matter whether you love him, or capital H.i.m. ;)
A lot-- NOT alot!
Which= I don't know which sandwich to take.
Witch= Not the one the witch made, though, I bet it's got cyanide in it.
Conjunction= A word which links the sentence together. "Stay calm. Om nom nom." just sounds better if you make it "Stay calm and om nom nom."
Contraction= Two words sandwiched together with the use of an apostrophe. Don't, can't, isn't, shouldn't, haven't, etc.

​Roleplay Annoyances: 100% Guaranteed to Make Everybody on the Roleplay Board Avoid You

Godmodding-- Making your character untouchable during fights, and attacking without giving the other roleplayers a chance to defend themselves. This is the most annoying thing I've ever experienced. It makes me want to literally strangle the Godmodder and sparta-kick a gerbil. For real, not joking.
Ex: "Bob attacked Steve and killed him."
...See what I mean? Before posting, ask yourself how you'd feel if somebody posted the same thing directed at your character. If the impulse to grab the nearest baby and beat it off a wall arises, you might want to re-think your post...

Powerplaying-- Pretty much the same thing, but possibly a little less extreme. Still annoying, though, because it gives you no chance to fight back.
Ex: "Bob grabbed Steve by the arm and punched him in the face, then kneed him, and then threw him to the ground and ran away."
Orly? Why don't I just find your house and do all that crap to you and walk away? D:<

Mary Sues or Gary Stues-- Are 'perfect' characters. Observe.
"MissPerfectHairPerfectFaceFlawlessPersonalityMoneybags flipped back her gorgeous blonde hair and batted her rainbow coloured eyes, instantly attracting the attention of every male in the vicinity. She took out her cellphone and then called several of her hundred friends to go hang out at her mansion. Then she grew wings and flew away :D"
Um...In real life, I hate multi-talented people. As in, people who are good at everything. So, if you want my character to try and murder yours later on, then I guess you can make a Mary Sue.


Bad Habits To Kick

1. Jumping from place to place like a monkey on energy drinks. This means that your character is moving from one location to the next so fast, over such large amounts of ground, that it's physically impossible. This is usually due to the roleplayer not reading the other posts very well, and in extension, not understanding the positions of other characters. Or it could be you're just excited and want to be in all of the action. Either way, it's a good idea to try and slow down. Take the time to describe things.

2. Not responding to certain parts of other posts. Example.
"Steve aimed a punch at Bob's face."
"Bob looked around, smiling pleasantly, then walked off to talk to his friend."
Unless your post was just late, then this makes you look stupid. If your post was late, edit it ASAP.

3. How to not Godmod:
It's simple, and all in the wording. Watch.
Good: "Steve tossed a knife in Bob's direction and hoped it would hit something vital."
Bad: "Steve threw a knife and hit Bob in the shoulder."
Unless you've planned something out that's essential to the plot with the roleplay creator or are attacking your own character or something, there's a fine line between good fight scenes and Godmodding. What you need to do is be a little bit vague. Hint that your character is probably going to hit the other, but don't make it definite. Also, if the other person is constantly dodging and never getting hit, that counts as Godmodding as well. Tattle on them to the roleplay creator.

4. Insta-love. We are not making Mr. Noodles or soup or hot chocolate. Actual love takes time, and is progressively built up between two characters. So yes, it is probably socially incorrect to just meet somebody and then start making out with them. Think of it all in relation to real life. If somebody you hardly knew did that to you, would you go all slutty, or reach for the nearest object and brain them?

5. Not reading over your posts before posting. This is something I still struggle with. It's like I can't see my own typos. Try and get into the habit of checking for grammatical/format errors before posting, because otherwise you have to edit, and edits used to show up in people's notification boxes, which was annoying if you edited something fifty times. I don't think it still does this, though.

6. On the topic of love, no being overly disgusting. By this I mean your character constantly fawning over the other character is weird. This isn't a healthy love-based relationship. This is lust. That's different. Obviously thinking about them is normal, but completely obsessive infatuation is borderline Twilight- and stepping over that line is madness.

We should all strive to get better, even if you already think you're good enough. There's always things to fix (as I discover every time I read the crap I write) and chances to improve. Learn from other roleplayers.

Basic Zombie Apocalypse Survival

Think about it. At any moment, at any given second of your life, you could hear a ghoulish moan from around a corner, and suddenly be faced with your greatest nightmare- a rotting, limping, disgusting fiend who only wants to eat your brains and tasty innards.
Seriously, think about it. If you were sitting in your house, alone, looked out the window, and saw a weird guy with body parts falling off and a half eaten arm in his mouth shambling up your driveway, would you be ready for action? Would you have supplies and a plan set to go right that second? Or would you panic for a bit? Look to your right. The first object you see might have to be your weapon in a pinch.
Imagine. Hoards of peeling-flesh, shrieking, hungry demons from the beyond grave stampeding up a deserted main street heading straight for you. Science? Some kind of god? Saying you'll 'kick ass' is a bad mindset. Wake up and smell the blood. Mocking's here to give you the basics of making it through!
The scene is set. The apocalypse has begun. Welcome to hell.


Understanding Zombies

First of all, zombies are borne from a bite-spread infection called Solanum. What's a good definition of the disease? Well...

"Solanum works by traveling through the bloodstream, from the initial point of entry, and from there to the brain. Through means not yet fully understood, the virus uses the cells of the frontal lobe for replication, destroying them in the process. During this period, all bodily functions cease. By stopping the heart, the infected subject is rendered "dead." The brain, however, remains alive but dormant, while the virus mutates its cells into a completely new organ. The most critical trait of this new organ is its independence from oxygen. By removing the need for this all-important resource, the undead brain can utilize, but is in no way dependent upon, the complex support mechanism of the human body. Once mutation is complete, this new organ reanimates the body into a form that bears little resemblance (physiologically speaking) to the original corpse. Some bodily functions remain constant, others operate in a modified capacity, and the remainder shut down completely. This new organism is a zombie, a member of the living dead."

So, basically, the virus infiltrates an individual's skin through a bite wound a zombie inflicts on them. It begins to screw up the brain. All organs shut down. The brain becomes dormant and no longer needs oxygen. The individual turns into a zombie. Depending on what your immune system was like, you can maybe last twenty four hours before it overtakes you. If you sever the bitten limb straight away, there might be a 10% chance of survival. But here are some things you have to remember:

- There's no 'bringing back' a friend who has turned into a zombie. They don't remember you. They won't show you mercy. They want to eat you. Shoot them and don't let emotion cloud your judgement.
-If a bit of zombie blood gets into your open wound, you'll die. The end. How could that happen? Say you threw a bomb at a big hoard of them, and it hit. Their guts fly everywhere, blood splatters on nearby buildings, one fleck happens to land in your papercut...game over. I'd recommend washing yourself, if you can, after each hunting party.

- The zombie body is in no way an improvement on the old human it once was. Zombies do not gain superpowers upon changing. They keep the attributes of the previous lifeform. So if that zombie was once a trackstar runner, I'd watch myself, as long as the corpse was fresh with muscles intact.
- Zombies don't need oxygen, so they can survive underwater. Later on, after you've gotten yourself established, it might be a good idea to send experienced divers down to kill them...
- It takes decades and decades for zombies to deteriorate naturally.
- Because Solanum targets the brain, the only way to kill a zombie is to destroy the brain.
- Burning the corpse thereafter helps, because Solanum can live in a dead body for forty-eight hours.
-You cannot 'tame' zombies, nor ((and I can't believe I have to say this)) can you have children with one, amongst other things, if you get what I'm implying.


There are Four Types of Outbreaks:

Class One: Low level, and very low-key. Most likely no more than fifty zombies on the loose. Often occur in rural or third-world places. This kind of outbreak is easy to miss, because the media will merely label it a 'mass homicide.' Of course, if left unchecked, it can escalate to a...

Class Two: Urban or densely populated places will house this kind of outbreak. Probably a maximum of one hundred zombies, but human casualties might reach up to several hundred. Not all of this is from Solanum, but mostly from human stupidity- people freaking out and crashing cars, being too trigger-happy and shooting one another, trying to use firebombs to kill the undead, etc. May require military aid to combat. If that fails, this could spike to a...

Class Three: "True crisis," as zombie expert ((it's legit...?)) Max Brooks puts it. There can be thousands of rotting demons prowling both urban and rural areas. The military is out in full force, government struggles to keep a thumb overtop of riots and civil unrest, everything becomes restricted and congested. Yet, try as they might, the zombie infestation overpowers them. Control slips away from authorities, and it becomes....

Class Four: "An undead world." You against the Earth. Zombies to the left and right, under the water, in the skyscrapers, wandering on floating ships and oil rigs. Crawling, writhing masses of them. Barren, fire-scorched landscapes. Moans of hungry zombies fill the air. When you meet another human, they probably want to kill you. Ah, the sights the sounds of a Class Four outbreak.


How to Prepare Before the Apocalypse:

Like any disaster, you want to have something ready to go for when the undead launch their first strike on humanity. Something you can just grab and run with. On that note, don't flee straight away, the streets will be clogged with panicked cars. Let them die a bit.

It's reassuring to have an emergency backpack of supplies ready. Just make sure it's not too bulky or heavy. This should include:

- Water bottles, enough for drinking, cooking, and washing. A hand-pump water filter would be a good idea, too, as well as a metal bucket or something to collect rainwater.
- Canned food, or none perishable food items high in protein and carbohydrates. When the time comes, ration it well.
- Advanced medical kit, w/ antibiotics and such.
- Shortwave radio, solar powered, maybe.
- Walkie-talkies, if you have any on hand. Stands to reason anything battery powered won't last long, but it might get you through the first tricky bit.
- Those crank up flashlights.
- Glowsticks? = ^. ^ =
- Compass/map of your area.
- Blankets/sleeping bags.
- Flares, if you can spare them. Matches for sure.
-A pair of nifty shades and binoculars as well.
- Multi-tool swiss army knife.
- Cordage
- Seriously, just bring a frigging toothbrush and toothpaste and stuff. There'll be hell to pay when your teeth are all rotting out and your dentist is now a zombie. Keeping yourself well groomed is a good idea, as many deadly diseases can start on unwashed bodies. On that note, don't be stupid and break into a zombie-infested house to use their shower...
- Your main weapon- cleaned, in good condition, ready to go, and with plenty of ammunition if it's a gun ((also, silencers, scopes, etc.)) Make sure you know how to use it well. "A weapon should be an extension of your body," said Max Brooks.

Does that sound like a lot, and hard to fit in a bag? Small price to pay for your life, I'd say. Remember that, should the outbreak Class exceed Two, I doubt money will be useful. If the outbreak Class does not exceed Two, the government will still expect everybody to follow the rules. Also, thieving rat bastards who want to slit your throat and steal your stuff instead of forging their own way through the apocalypse or just joining a damn group...well, they'll always be out there.

Be sure to have an escape route from your home planned, and have multiple exits for said escape. You never know when one could be blocked. Have plans on how to escape from all sorts of houses, because it's just as likely you'll be at a friend's or a school when this happens. Stay calm. The first thing, the very first thing you need to grab is any kind of weapon you can get your hands on. Even if it's not your trusty shotgun, but rather, a tire iron from the back of a truck. It doesn't really matter what you have- at least, until you get your hands on your usual weapon.


Also, if you plan on traveling in a group, pick your members carefully. People will say they've got your back. They'll swear allegiance, all in good fun. But when death is truly staring you in the face, how many of them mean it? How many will stick to your side? Who will allow you to be leader, and who will you wake up to see trying to stab you in the middle of the night?

- Try not to recruit people much older than yourself, as when a crisis arises, the eldest will naturally try to assume control.
- Get a wide range of skilled people. Doctors ((medical)), farmers ((agriculture)), survivalists ((wilderness survival)), professional divers ((eliminating zombies underwater)), pilots ((aviation)), people who are good with equines ((horseback riders, or other animal-loving people like that)), military ((stealth, combat, etc.))
Well, you catch my drift.
- The people you first start your survival group with shouldn't be random humans you selected off of the street. Your best friend of eight years? Likely that they'll stay with you. Your iffy frienemy of one month? Forget them. It's amazing who'll lose it first when the apocalypse arrives. Even 'professionals' can be the first to go. Then again, people can be surprising. Just make sure you place your trust in the correct ones, or you might pay for it with your brain.
- People with drug/alcohol addictions are bad ideas, because they might split from the group, or lead you all astray, just to find something to sooth their cravings. Even smoking- the end of a cigarette glows at night -can be dangerous. It's best to quit these right away.
- People who take pills for mental disorders might also be bad ideas. Now, don't be offended if you have one, I have one myself, but I mean extreme disorders. Like, if somebody goes completely psycho when they don't take their meds and attack you with a knife. As long as they seem to be emotionally stable most of the time, go for it.


Traveling

There pros and cons to everything, but remember these simple tips; minimal noise, no fuel, durability.

Cars/trucks/buses/campers:

• Fast
  
• All terrain ((trucks))
  
• Noisy
  
• Need fuel
  
• Bulky
  
• Will eventually rust out

Conclusion-- Good for quick getaways or clear stretches of road, as well as storing things or temporarily living in. However, drive through a town an announce yourself as today's main course.


Boats:

• Rowboats are slow, but human powered.
  
• Speed/cruise boats are faster, but require fuel.
  
• Sailboats are wind powered, but harder to work.
  
• Can get into hard-to-access areas.
  
• Surrounded by water to drink and fish to eat.
  
• All types need extensive experience of sailing alone to even hope to live on.
  
• Dropping enchor allows waterlogged zombies to climb up said anchor-line and eat you.
  
• The weather can be your doom.

Conclusion-- Good idea, if you're experienced. But every day will be a gamble. Placid waters can turn into crashing waves and sink you.


Planes:

• Good for reaching high-altitude places
  
• Talk about noisy! Zombies ten miles away will flock to your crash site.
  
• Only a few gallons of fuel per run, no big deal...
  
• How the hell are you going to land that thing on a whim?
  
• You need experience, or a pilot.
  
• Weather can ground you.

Conclusion-- Why not try something safer, like running through a Twilight convention wearing a Harry Potter shirt? Unless you're abandoning all hope and are just fleeing to the mountains, do not use planes.


Bicycles:

• Human powered
  
• Quiet
  
• Not safe- offer no protection when driving at night and a zombie decides to jump you from a ditch.
  
• You'll end up carrying it across muddy fields and such.

Conclusion-- Better idea than some of the other vehicles, but unreliable. It could give out at any time and leave you stranded. Better to throw one in the back of another means of transportation.


Horses:

• Only fuel they need is food and water.
  
• Do all the walking for you, can go through nearly terrain.
  
• Can carry heavy loads of your stuff.
  
• Can and probably will alert you of zombies approaching, since animals hate zombies.
  
• Hooves will be noisy on concrete roads.
  
• Need experience to read their signs.
  
• Have to care for them. Horse doctors will be a bit short during the apocalypse. If something goes wrong, might as well just eat your equine...
  
• Horse may panic and run off without you on it. Bonus if your stuff was strapped to the saddle. Meanwhile, it crashing through the woods nickering wildly will alert zombies of your whereabouts, and then you'd have no escape vehicle...better start running.

Conclusion-- Maybe a good idea, depending on your terrain. Probably a better group ride, since then it's unlikely that all of your horses will take off...then again, that could be monstrously noisy.


Tanks/armored vehicles:

• Invincible
  
• Can go anywhere.
  
• Shoot explosive things at zombies.
  
• Loud as hell
  
• Need fuel

Conclusion-- Where the f*ck did you get a tank from!?



Weapon Selection:

Your main weapon is your biggest asset in an undead world. You should be able to use them with either hand, in almost any situation. Here are some helpful hints on how to select the perfect zombie-killing weapon for you:

- "Blades don't need reloading."
- Heavy slows you down.
- Loud is bad.
- Needing fuel is bad.
- Hand-to-hand combat is a whole other subject, nobody but experts should attempt. Hell, there's no way I'd do it. Anybody who would is off their rocker, in my opinion.
- Nailing a zombie straight through the eye is unlikely- too small a target.
- The human skull is a thick bone...
- If it can bludgeon a zombie, make sure it's not so heavy that if you miss, you don't have to scramble to swing it back around again before the zombie bites you.
- Weapons that are multi-purpose are good.
- Make sure a legit/authentic/working model of the weapon is easily available.
- Make sure you can use it very well.
- Make sure it's not illegal- Class One & Two outbreaks will still require you abide by laws.
- For the last freaking time, pouring salt on a zombie won't kill them! If anything, the salt will help preserve their bodies for a longer lifespan -_-'
- Guns don't kill people...guns kill zombies. Providing their quiet and don't attract more.


That's the very very bare-bones minimum of zombie apocalypse survival. I don't want any of you to die. I luff TeenRPG. And I already know most of you are insane enough to make it xD
But if you're ever in the vicinity of Canada during the apocalypse, look around for Mocking...With any luck, she'll be running the place like a mobster

Pig Latin-- To Speak a Noble Language

Pig Latin is most certainly a noble language. However, as a teacher and fluent speaker of it, I believe you should know a little of its history before attempting to learn.

I bet you just think it’s a children’s game, huh? Well, maybe it is now, but it wasn’t always like that. Despite its humorous name, this play-on-words language has a dark past. In fact, it can be traced back as far as William Shakespeare’s time, where it was simply ‘false Latin’ used to keep conversations private. Or during wars between two countries that spoke different languages- even if one side had a translator, the English-speakers would switch to Pig Latin and confuse the hell out of them. On the Internet today, you can find translators from English to Pig Latin, or vice-versa. The language itself has evolved over time, but has also grown in popularity. Want to read the Bible…in Pig Latin? Well, you can do that now, because somebody sat down, typed it out, and translated it. Pig Latin has its happy moments in time, too. In the Lion King movie, you may remember the line “ixnay on the upidstay”…well, that’s Pig Latin. Everybody does it :3

Unfortunately, some people get really frazzled about the language. They call it silly and stupid and pointless and write entire rants about how dumb it is. Well, ignore them and shout ‘ewscray ouyay!’
They must have had a fantastic childhoods if that’s how they were raised. People who can’t stand harmless little things like this and turn them into a big problem just sound cranky and boring to be around.

So, without further ado, let us start from scratch.


::The Basics::

Consonants—A letter that is not a vowel.
Vowels—A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes Y.

Let’s take a word. Any old word will do. How about my name?

Now, time to translate it into Pig Latin. First thing you need to know is that vowels are very important. What you have to do is knock off all of the letters standing between you and the vowel. Pretend that the vowel is a taco, and you a valiant warrior striving to reach it. But in order to do so, you must push aside the Mexican-ninjas ((consonants.))

Good. Of course, in this case, it was only the letter ‘M’ we got rid of. Now we add it to the back of the word, as if we were shoving the ninja to the back of a line and telling him to wait for his own damn turn because you haven’t eaten since yesterday and you want that motherfluffing taco.

And there you have it, my name in Pig Latin. See how simple that is? I tried to make it interesting to read, but if you want a nice and short definition;

Remove all consonants before the vowel and add them to the end of the word, adding on ‘ay’ after that.

Now we’ll do slightly larger words, some with two words to make up the one, and some was apostrophes or hyphens added in to confuse you. Try them on your own, then look inside the spoiler to see if you were right.

Excellent. Defenestration, by the way is the act of throwing someone or something out a window. Anywho, time to move on to the most controversial part of Pig Latin. Say you come across a word like this;

Well, now what? You can’t knock off the vowel when the vowel is the first letter.

Lots of people will tell you different things. Hay, day, way, may…but personally, I was taught using ‘way’, and that’s how I’m teaching you. Leave the word exactly as it is, but add ‘way’ to the end of it.
